It was my pleasure to be part of the day when Michael and Jason began their lifelong  journey at a local winery close to a lovely in town lake here in Des Moines, IA. Their photographers, Becca and Holleen, were tons of fun and, as you can see, artists!

Celebrating in the vines

The evening ended with a lovely dinner at our best wine bar, Sbrocco. Des  Moines has many wonderful spots to celebrate your special day.

Planning a wedding in less than 30 days is a challenge.  Add to that never having been to Iowa and having no idea where to even begin…There was so much to consider–paper work and laws, venue, officiant, photographer, etc.  We immediately looked for a wedding planner. 

Renee helped us understand the laws in Iowa regarding same sex marriage, helped us located and reserve the perfect venue (even went to the location to take photos for our approval), provided a number of photographer portfolios for us to review, and even offered suggestions on where to dine.  From the beginning of our planning until we said “I do,” Renee took our somewhat scattered thoughts and turned them into the perfect day (the sun even came out from behind the dark clouds).
